C-A-M-P

Had anyone of attending camps that is so life changing and indescribable?  Personally, I always dread to go for camps because of the packing that has to be done and the unlimited amount of tiredness that I will feel. Nonetheless, even with so many excuses not to go for the camp, I will still go, somehow. Well, during my two weeks’ worth of study break, I attended Camp Renaissance and GEnRe Camp.

Camp Renaissance is basically a 4D3N camp for leaders of RP to meet up and network as well as share our IG managing skills with one another. I was team under ‘A3’ by Pira (some hairy Indian from student council) - this, I believe was a turn of events for me.

First day of the camp, we had to come out with a group name. As usual, ice has to be broken so we were generally ‘cold’. We came out with lots of names such as AIDS, ACE, A3 and some unicorn thingy- and somehow it didn’t work out. Our cheer wasn’t ready too. Anyways to move on, we went to Palau Ubin to stay for 1D1N. So we had to pitch a few tents, cook outdoors and then land navigate ourselves around.  In my mind I was thinking, who I am going to tent with? I haven’t got to know guys from the team, except Syukri. And then guess what? The more happening guys decided to sleep together; hence, I was in the less happening tent. Sigh! But still, our first night as a group was fun because we talked through the night and then I was gazing the stars with Pira! Not forgetting all the ghost stories shared by each and every one. Second day was when we navigated almost around Pulau Ubin up and down. To add onto our misery, it rained. It was rather uncomfortable and I don’t feel like participating anymore. Why? Try trekking for 7 hours straight with rain and you will know what I meant. Of course the other days were workshops and more workshops we had to go through but somehow, our team got more bonded together. And we really started talking and all. I was quite happy then. My mini group even did a Salsa dance! Cool huh?

Racheal is can be depended when needed.
Syrukri is the same; weird as ever~
Pira? No comments. He is damn funny, please!
Marshall is a born comedian.
Zhi Cai time keeper can already.
Willie is super hyper noisy- sometimes.
Racheal is quite quiet but has her thoughts too I think.

Anyways, through this camp, I realized the importance of having a voice to direct and lead a team. Not to mention the fact that we should always be open to ideas and not to judge on someone too quickly. On top of that, I realized we must always use different kind of leadership style and different timings so that we can get things moving. Lastly which is the most important one, is that actions speak louder than words. One can talk a lot but if he or she does not do the things, then it is just bullshit.

On the side note, I was thinking whether I should have taken the President's role. Oh well... it was rather reflective for me because I didn't like things was done. Nonetheless, live with it.

                          Anyways, I love ACESOME <3!

Next, I planned GEnRe Camp! It was messy here and there being my first time planning for a actual camp. Yes, there is a lot of things that needs to be taken care of and I admit it, I wasn;t as easy as I think. But the experience was needed.
