LAST WEEK.

Wow! Just 2 more days and it is the end of my holidays! I am kind of excited actually because it is going to be the last semester for me in RP and then internship and finally graduate from polytechnic! The remaining months will surely be fun and full of new experiences- meeting new friends and forging new bonds. Shall look forward to it!

Anyways, I spent 4 days attaching to this event called Metal Asia 2013 (MTA 2013). I was assigned to be the "ushers" of the event to help guide participants with the registration. Honestly speaking, standing for hours is totally no joke! I really salute those security guards who are on full shift- their endurance is admirable. And that, I was transfer to the surveyor department to do survey...and I finally understood what it means to be thick skin and get people to do the survey for you. Of course, despite my thickened skin, I still got a lot of rejections. I think pretty girls are more cut out for this job. Okay, that's because I was the only guy in the surveyor's team. Oh well..I am so glad I pulled through this event!

And during the four days of attachment, I managed to meet these girls and caught-up with them over dinner!
It's really very rare for us to meet because some of us are working while others internship but I am so glad we managed to make some time to catch up for school starts! I love it when we haven't meet for a long time and yet, still able to make conversation like never before- laughing and making fun of one another.

ARIEL. HUMAIRAH. YIJIN. RUWEN. ME.
And...of course, my week didn't just end there. My youth zone had a baking/cooking event to raise funds for the Israel trip at the end of the year. I kind of enjoyed spending my time with them, making the tarts and yam paste because I could see another side of them which I rarely see in church- them working hard. LOL! Anyways, I am so glad most of us had fun "suffering" together. All the estimating, pounding, cutting and baking were worthwhile. Looking forward to the next time we can come together and do these things again. I really hope to be able to build real and firm relationships with these individuals so that we can help one another go through good and bad times together. Just like other relationships, have heart to heart talks and hang out together once in awhile. Of course, more importantly, for each individual to experience God even more than now. I personally believe greater things are still to be done.
Well, gonna trust God ya!

POUNDING WITH CLEMENT AND JOANNE!
FRUIT NINJA!
And to end the day off, I went for LCSS appreciation dinner with Ben and Becky. I kind of enjoyed the efforts put up by the dinner planning committee- the performance and the host. Okay, at least I didn't waste my time there. And good thing Ben was driving! If not, I would have reached home later..

Of course, my little sister's birthday, 14041998.

Having so many things packed, I actually didn't go for GEnRe to practice the guitar score or anything this entire week. Of course, I have lots of catching up to do man! Come to think of it, there is a preview tomorrow for the performance and I am not even sure if my playing or timing is correct. Oh well, there is always this trade off between this and that. Guess setting our priorities right really is important.

Giving thanks to God for His prefect plan and timing.
Till then..! :)

If God is your partner, dare to dream bigger, to think bigger and to make your plan bigger.

#87

I actually wanted to blog out how I really feel for the past few days.
I have been feeling quite down recently due to a few things...
But some things are probably best left unspoken.

Anyways, I recently helped out for 2XU Marathon! This is the second time I've participated for 2XU marathon as crew member. Bu this time, I helped out with Erick, Amy and Joanna under the welfare team! It was just 4 of us in the team! But I was glad because we manage to clear all the admin process like attendance taking really fast because it's only 4 of us! Thank God! After that, I brought them to 18CHEF for lunch since they've never eaten there before. Love the fellowship! :)

Anyways, holidays is coming to an end! Holidays are never enough man! This coming year is going to be my last year in RP. Gonna continue working hard and finish this part of my race to the best of my ability. But before that, I shall enjoy my holidays! Looking forward to MTA 2013 next week!

Till then!

JOURNEY

It's always good to be able to slow down once in awhile and enjoy life a little. This is especially more applicable for me since it is holiday now!

Anyways, recently I attended CREATE Camp- it's a management camp where leaders of the different interest group come together and learn how to manage themselves and leaders. This was the second time I attended this camp and things that were being went through were pretty much the same. However, I still manage to learnt something new despite the same content. And of course, many tough questions and decisions came along the way. But I am so glad to have the chance to attend this camp- it was quite refreshing for myself at least.

MY INDIAN FRIEND!
SISTERS!
GEnRe MC!
I hope this batch of committee will soar greater heights and achieve their goals that they've set.

Of course, I also went for night cycling! I was so excited for it because it's been awhile since TDY had any activities. To be honest, I was quite disappointed with the turnout as many couldn't make it. However, I thank God the group wasn't so big because we REALLY cycled..

We journey from ECP to Changi Village for supper. Then from Changi village back to ECP. And from ECP to Gardens By The Bay and back to ECP to return the bike. Goshhh, this was by far the furthest I've went on a bike at night. It was also the first time that I was so desperate to return the bike back to the shop. My leg were aching and I could no longer feel my butt. BUT! There was still a sense of satisfaction after everything. So overall, GOOD JOB!

Anyways, really appreciate those who have come despite their schedule.
I don't know if I am going to cycle any time soon...
So till then! :)

THANKFUL.

Since now it is holidays, I was able to spend more time with God and reading the bible. I just want to share something that I read from Our Daily Bread; which I thought was quite interesting and relate-able.

"When butterflies hatch at Frederick Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan, they do so in an indoor tropical paradise perfectly suited to meet their very need. The temperature is perfect. The humidity is perfect. The food is a perfect balance of calories and nutrition to keep them healthy. No need to go else where. Yet some butterflies see the bright blue sky outside the conservatory and spend their days fluttering near the glass ceiling far away from the plentiful food supply.

I want to say to those butterflies, "Don't you know everything you need is inside? The outside world is cold and harsh, and you will die within minutes if you get what you are longing to have." I wonder if that is the message God has for me. So I asked myself, do I look longingly at things that would harm me? Do I use my energy to gain what I don't need and shouldn't have? Do I ignore God's plentiful provision because I imagine that something just beyond my reach is better? Do I spend time my time on fringes of faith?

God supplies all our needs from His riches (Phil 4:19). So instead of striving for what we don't have, may we open our hearts to gratefully receive everything we've already been given by Him."

I thought this was quite applicable to me. Up till now, God have never short-changed me. He has always been faithful to me in terms of academic results, finance to even good company of friends. However, just like the butterflies, I tend to go by my means of doing things my way- which often a time, fails me. The reading ended with saying that our needs never exhaust God's supply. Amen!

Anyways, I have been giving myself some "higher-order-of thinking" in terms of things that matter to God VS things that matter to me. To be honest, many things don't make sense to me now. I really wish I could talk it out, but then again, I held back. Maybe because relationship are all on the surface.

I had a meeting with my church's youth leaders yesterday. Clement made a statement which stood up quite strongly to me which went something like.."I don't know and I don't want to know", maybe things are better left unknown? And then Becky made this statement which stumbled me a little..it went something like.."It probably better if they are not too dependent on us.." I was then really confused, which was also why I asked so many questions I guess. Why are we exactly trying to build here? Having everything in mind, I probably needed to know what it means to be accountable to one another and the true meaning of fellowship.

Nonetheless, I thank God for everything. And today's reading of Our Daily Bread seems to be in line...

"It is hard to be grateful in difficulties, but it is not impossible. Danial prayed and gave thanks (Dan 6:10), knowing that his life was in danger. Jonah called out "with the voice of thanksgiving" (Jonah 2:9) while inside a fish! These examples, coupled with God's promise that He will work all things together for our good and His glory (Rom 8:28) can inspire us to be thankful in all things.

I will be praying very hard now for answers, directions, revelations and breakthrough for TDY.

W24H CHALET!

I recently went for a chalet with my Y1S1 class!

This was the fourth time we had chalet as a class. This time round, I had lots of fun thanks to the Running Man planned by Guo Cong, Tessa, Joo Hwee and Arthur. Really appreciate them for taking initiative to plan this chalet despite the busy schedule and exams. Love these people alot! :)

We don't really meet-up often, but when we do, we make it worth it.

THE BOYS!

Thanks for everyone who help cook all the nice food.
I have to admit that our BBQ skill gets better after each chalet.
#NOTBAD

And most crazy thing of all, we did HARLEM SHAKE!
And there was a lot of people watching us.
HAHA, had a time of my life man!
Doing crazy things with people whom you feel comfortable with feels entirely different.
The video will be up as soon as it is edited.

After the chalet, some of us went for a swim!
And Arthur was like some coach, telling us how to improve our strokes.
Sadly, if only we could spend more time in the pool! :(

COACH ARTHUR!

After that, we played Circle Of Death (COD) and talked till we sleep.
Thank God I didn't touch any alcohol for COD, if not, I'd suffer some serious hangover.
Then again, I probably drank too much water from this game...
Went to the toilet for alot of times.

THIS BEER TASTE BETTER WITH LEMON.
BUT STILL NOT NICE :(

<3
We ended the chalet talking about next semester- how everyone is going to be busy with internship and school. I wonder if we will still be able to surprise another with birthday cakes and presents this time round. Nonetheless, I was quite glad to hear that the internship people will be able to plan the next chalet (since they end their semester earlier anyway..)! HAHA!
We even though ahead of time! No need for chalet next time.
Whoever buy house first, just crash his/her house.
Cool or what?!

In RP, it is really hard to be able to find a class that is this bonded!
The feeling is really beyond description.
Come to think about it, we are all so different.
Yet still, despite our differences, we can still be so close and not mind one another.
This thing we share is unique, and I believe it will always be.
CHEERS TO W24H!

Till then!

Good food. Great time. Best friends.

LOVE.

Which are you?
A lot of my friends asked me why am I not attached. Well, I personally think I don't have to be attached for the sake of being attached. Just because everyone around is attached doesn't mean I have to be. Of course, that doesn't mean I am not interested to be in a relationship- truth is, I do. Just that now is probably not the right time. Besides, after completing my diploma, I will need to enlist into the army. Where got time?

Then again, things don't always go according to plan.
Who knows? I might end up committing into a real relationship.
Haha? :)

#MILESTONE

Yes! Exams are finally over! Finally can let my hair down for awhile because it is holidays! I am going to be somewhat busy still I think? But I hope to be able to work part-time again- I figured out it would be quite boring to have nothing to look forward to or dread to when school's out. Well, at least I will be able to kill time and earn some money for myself to spent! Question is, where should I work? Hmmm, shall start looking for a job that doesn't require me to commit so much.

AND, I celebrated my end of exams by going to club- ZOUK! It's my first time clubbing and I have to say, it's more fun than I thought it would be. It's a place where one can really enjoy the music and let everything out and just party. Other than the "squeezing" part at the dance floor, everything is good!
Really enjoyed my time there!
Thanks to everyone below who parties with me! :)

ARIEL. TRACY. MARYANNE. JUSTIN. HUIPING. ELLEN.

It's always good to have friends that look out for you, wants to spend time with you and most importantly, cherish the friendship with you- it really makes a lot of difference! And I thank God for these bunch of lovely people- they help me to see life from a different perspective sometimes and motivate/nag at me.
In return, I do the same by nagging at them too!
HAHA, that's how we look take care of one another.
Sometimes, I also wished all my close friends know each other. I know it's some wishful thing but isn't it quite cool? Well, at least I think it is. HAHA!

Alright.
I AM ENJOY MY HOLIDAYS!
Started off with playing badminton with Diane, Clement and Rachael today!
Then went for fishball noodles for lunch.
After that, went to sign my scholarship with MBS plus a bit of tour!

I think I need to spend some time to quite in shape and prepare for NS. #justsaying
Anyways, I am looking forward to camps and spending quality time with some friends.
Till then.

Maybe people don't change.
Maybe we just didn't know who they really are from the start.

LIVE A LIFE.

It's been awhile since I updated this blog! Life's quite "busy" thus far because of exams. Then again, I am not really mugging as hard as I could have- not sure why though. Probably because I'm already in holiday mood?

Anyways, Valentine's day just passed not long ago! Many of the couples out there might have spend some quality time together? I personally think it is still a normal day like any other. Put it this way, every day will be Valentines Day- you don't need a reason to be sweet to someone you really love right? With that aside, this was how my V-Day was spend...

I woke up late in the morning and still decided to go to school- this means I am late and partial. After reaching school, most of my class-mates all decided to partial. So, I also "partial" to catch movie with them. But in the end, I went back to class because the queue was filled up by too many RP students who decided to partial. Looks like I am destined not to partial huh? After that, I went to Tracy's house! This was because I didn't want to meet up the rest alone. And of course, I got to see Toby! He is really vibrant and excited I guess? I am so glad he didn't come and lick me like what other dogs would do. And Tracy's mother was quite friendly- althought, half of the time, I didn't understand what she was saying. HAHA!

After that, we left for Clark Quay for meet up the rest for dinner! Of course, I didn't expect to be eating at Saizaraya (dont know how to spell). And I got to know a new friend, Sara. I think she quite friendly also, maybe because Maryanne and Ariel was around. And after that, we all went to a bar! Trip to the bar was a virgin trip to me- am I missing out alot? Anyways, most of us ordered Lychee Beer- I didn't even finish 1/4 and my face already red like XYZ. Funny as it was, I enjoyed my V-Day with all of them! I wouldn't mind going back to the bar again- love the atmosphere there.

Thanks for making my V-Day so special! <3

W24H also celebrated Jereen and Arthur's birthday! We went to steamboat together at Jereen's house! So glad that we still keep in touch since Y1S1. I really hope this friendship continue to last! Especially since we have been having chalet every end of the semester together! As usual, I am looking forward to the one coming up in March where everyone will be there! :)

And just recently, I went for dinner with Tracy and Anne! I am so sorry to had two girls waiting for me and my meeting to end. I definitely appreciated their patience because I didn't receive any calls from them during my meeting despite it ending way later than planned. And we feasted...and I am so looking forward to the next feast at Old Airport Road! "Good food, great people, best fellowship!"

I was just pondering about everything that has happened so far and thinking about next time- whether I will be able to meet up with all these friends. I mean, everyone is changing. One moment, we can be best of friends, another moment, strangers with memories or even enemies. It's really funny how status-quo can change so quickly in an blink of an eye. Anyways, whatever happens, just make the best out of it. Guess that's what that really matters? I am going to be really busy in time to come. I really hope I will be able to manage my time properly and spend it wisely on things that matters to me. At the end of the day, my purpose would be to glorify God. Gonna work real hard for it!

Anyways, I have been going for night jogging and badminton with Esther! I am getting ready for NS by building up some stamina. HAHA, spending time with her reminds me of how we used to play during childhood when we were still so young! How I missed being a kid man. And, I want to thank her for buying 2 singlets from BKK for me! I promised her I will try to look my best physically when I wear the singlet, hopefully I will be able to carry through this simple promise. And guess what? I might be going for a 5D4N trip with her family to Thailand next year! Hope everything works out and that I will have the time to do so!

Alright! I will be stopping here with this quote!
And it pretty much sums up what I want to say.
Till then! :)

“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”

88th: CNY

Today is CHINESE YEAR NEW EVE!
Here is wishing everyone a very Happy Chinese New Year!
Anyways, I thought of doing a short post!

I finally finished one of the module which I hate the most, Entrepreneurship! It probably one of the most burden modules that I took because there is so many things to be done! At the end of the day, I don't think all that effort is worth it. Then again, I thought part of the reason why I hate this module was because I don't like my facilitator. Oh well, so glad it's finally over! Below are some pictures of the trade show booth my class did for this module.

Anyways, it's just two more lessons and 5 more UT before I say goodbye to my Year 2 in RP. Time really passes in an blink of an eye- looking back, there is many milestones I've accomplish in RP. And of course many friendships forged. Haha, guessed I will need to be mentally prepared for Year 3 and internship, definitely going to be an excited year ahead! Shall look forward and start things afresh!

And before I end this short post...
I found these pictures on my laptop...

HAHA!
Happy CNY!

Don't cry because everything is over. Smile because it happened.

87TH

Here I am again, blogging on the recent happenings of my life.

Firstly, I want to give thanks to God for the turnout on the event my classed plan for JIVE FIESTA- mainly Score-for-Fund and SuaySuayLove. Through planning this event from scratch, I really learnt lots of new things from managing people to executing event smoothly. And, I finally understood what it means when "anything under the Sun can happen" in an event- despite all the risk management and contingency plans, some grounds are still left uncovered. Ohh well, this is where experience is more important than knowledge? Nonetheless, my class earned $554.90 worth of funds for the RP Needy Students Fund, good job guys! It kind of sad to know that we only have 2 weeks left together as EOM class after so much we have been through from strangers till now.

OLIVIA RESTAURANT!
#Y2S2 #EOM
ARIEL! <3
SSL- WE DID IT! :)
OUR 66700 SALUTES!
Secondly, I guess it will on relationship? A friend whom was really close to me finally got a boyfriend... Bearing that in mind, both of us decided to not be so close anymore because the boyfriend might envy. I felt hurt of course- a boyfriend whom knew her less than a year took over my 6 years worth of friendship. But, because I want the best for her, so I respected her decision and not be too close. My intention was so that I wouldn't get in the way of their relationship because I knew they have a few quarrels over me already. And this, slowly led to me avoiding her literally, to the extend she finally couldn't take it and broke down. Of course, her boyfriend confronted me head-on and want me to do something about it. As much as I want things to be the same it used to be, I cannot.

To be honest, I was angry and sad too. Just because I am emotionally stronger than her, it doesn't mean I don't feel a thing. I'm not even sure if this relationship could be mended- besides, she was the one who told me she was trying very hard to not talk to me. Am I not making her job easier? Sigh, she failed to understand what was going through my mind when she told me that.

I need some time to overcome myself.

Lastly, it will probably be on myself. I really need to buck up my time with God through praying and reading of the Bible as much as possible. If I really want anything to happen, it has to start with me. As crappy as I am feeling now with the situation that I'm facing, I'm assured I can rest in God.
"What a great privilege to know Him face to face.."
I shall be positive, and not do anything by my own strength and be still.

Moments of solitude.
